Children are taught about the importance of healthy eating. We provide one or two snacks daily depending on the program and lunch to full-day and part-day 4 only. These meals are prepared in-house by a chef and meet the USDA guidelines to provide part of a child’s total nutritional needs. We serve 1% milk with all lunches and some snacks. When juice is served it is 100% fruit juice. All snacks include a minimum of 2 food groups as follows: 1 protein, 1 bread or whole grain, 1 serving each fruit and vegetable, and 1 serving milk or milk equivalent.
If your child has a food allergy, please let the CDC office know when registering and we can help you with the appropriate forms, which include an Allergy Action Plan. Children with life-threatening allergies to food MUST only consume what is sent from home. If you would like to keep some allergy-friendly food at the center for your child to have for celebrations you are welcome to do so.
If you have a food preference for your child, please let the CDC office know when registering and we can help you with the appropriate forms. Parents are able to substitute items as needed.
Woods CDC is a NUT FREE facility. Please do not send any foods that contain nuts.
Children enrolled in the part-day 2-year-old program need not be potty trained to begin. We ask that you send all the necessary supplies needed to diaper your child. Diapers, wipes, and any creams along with the appropriately filled out forms. Children will be taken to the bathroom on a regular basis and encouraged to use the toilet. Please be sure to communicate preferences and progress with your child’s teachers.
